Danbury Hospital Recruits Nurses

DANBURY — Danbury Hospital is looking for nurses for its new regional angioplasty and open heart surgery program. There will be a nursing open house on Thursday, November 11, from 5 to 7 pm, in the hospital’s Praxair Cancer Center lobby, first floor Stroock Building, 24 Hospital Avenue.

For registered nurses with cardiothoracic experience, there are positions available for cardiac step-down RNs; intensive care unit RNs; operating room RNs, and an OR clinical leader. The hospital also is seeking experienced registered nurses for its emergency department, ICU, medical/surgical, operating room, and psychiatry areas.

“We’re a 371-bed, not-for-profit community hospital serving approximately 360,000 residents of western Connecticut and southeastern New York — and we’re growing,” said Mary A. Nolan, vice president of nursing and chief nursing officer. “We employ, and keep happy, the very best in the health care industry. How? By rewarding, challenging, and taking care of our employees, so they can better care for our patients.”

Ms Nolan also cited excellent salary and benefits, as well as a special bonus program available to DHS employees who refer an experienced cardiothoracic registered nurse. “If you join our team, you too, could be eligible to receive a $10,000 referral bonus,” she said.

Interested nurses can attend the recruitment event or apply online at www.danburyhospital.org. For more information, call the hospital’s human resources department at 739-7330.
