The Flagpole Photographers Camera Club invites the public to its November events, which have already opened with the presentation of “Newtown & Beyond.”

The annual exhibition of works by members is on view at Newtown Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street, through the end of December. The collection is in the main corridor and can be viewed weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm, later on weeknights when town board and commission meetings are conducted.

An opening reception is planned for Sunday, November 7, from 2 to 4 pm. Attendees will be asked to wear facemasks.

The club’s next meeting is planned for Thursday, November 11, online at 7 pm.

The competition theme is “In The Dark.” The Monthly Challenge theme is “The Simple Things.”

Members compete in a different assigned subject each month, as well as in a Monthly Challenge, Open Color, Open Monochrome, and Comments Only categories. The Monthly Challenge is decided at the competition meetings for the following month.

While the competition is only open to members, the public is invited to listen to critiques and learn about photography.

There is no charge to attend Flagpole Photographers Camera Club competitions. Visit flagpolephotographers.com for the program link.

Flagpole Photographers is a local nonprofit group that enables members to share their images and expertise, to learn and grow in their photography, and to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow photographers who come from diverse backgrounds, with photographic skills ranging from novices to professionals.

New members are always welcome to join the club and may enter their work in monthly club competitions, participate in workshops, take field trips, get involved in community programs, and take part in annual exhibits.

Additional club information, meeting dates, including calendar of events, member galleries, and workshop information can be found at flagpolephotographers.com.
