The Newtown chapter of Hearts of Hope (HOH-Newtown) will sponsor a Paint With a Purpose event on Wednesday, November 17, from 6 to 8 pm, at Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson Street.

This month’s event will benefit the Alzheimer Association.

Cheryl Podob from the Fairfield County Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut chapter will be the special guest.

All participants paint small ceramic hearts with personal messages of support at a cost of $7 per heart. Typically, each month’s paint event highlights a particular organization which then receives the hearts.

In addition to painting, items to purchase will include the HoH 2022 commemorative hearts highlighting The Newtown Bee, pet-themed personalized hearts, necklaces, keychains, and more.

There will be no December Paint With a Purpose event, but prepackaged “onesies” are always available to order and paint with family and friends, perfect for the upcoming holiday gatherings.

For additional information or to register for this event contact HOH-Newtown Chapter President Pattie Ptak at newtown@ourheartsofhope.org or 203-828-8103.

Palm-size ceramic hearts are turned into unique works of art during each Hearts of Hope (HOH) Paint With A Purpose event. HOH-Newtown invites all ages to join them for their next event, which will honor the Alzheimer’s Association. —Ivy Pearson photo
