Nighthawk Football Team Is State Playoff's Top Seed, Will Host NFA Tuesday

Based on Thanksgiving Day results, Newtown High School's football team bumped up a spot and got the top seed in the Class LL state playoffs.

The Nighthawks (10-0) will host eight seed Norwich Free Academy (7-3) in the quarterfinals, on Tuesday, December 3. Kickoff at Blue & Gold Stadium is set for 6:30 pm.

The winner plays in the state semifinals on Sunday, December 8, starting at 12:30. at the site of better seed. The championship is set for Saturday, December 14 (time to be determined).

In other Class LL quarterfinal action, No. 2 Southington hosts No. 7 Ridgefield, No. 3 Darien hosts No. 6 Greenwich, and No. 4 Simsbury entertains No. 5 Cheshire.
