Thankful for our time together and our cherished memories, with profound heartbreak we announce the unexpected death of our beloved wife and mother Christine Reardon. She is survived by treasured children, Taylor and John Anthony, and her husband of 28 years, John. Christine was born in Springfield, Mass. She was a longtime resident of Sandy Hook.

Christine enjoyed several storied career adventures throughout her life starting in her youth in hotel/restaurant management, followed by a successful career that spanned four states as general manager and regional manager for several fashion and retail brands. Christine “owned the room” through her striking and impactful presence and impressive work ethic. Throughout her life, her thirst for interesting things led to multiple career stops and certifications including as an aesthetician, phlebotomist, as a caregiver to triplets, and most recently as a pharmacy technician.

Christine’s true passion and love was her home, her immediate and extended family, a slew of rescued and adopted family dogs, and the places she held closest to her heart. The true calling in her life was her compassion, actions, and generosity for those in desperate need or less fortunate than her. From her youth, Christine was drawn to rescue the neediest animals and those just in need of a new home or love.

Christine was a wonderful self-taught gourmet cook. She was a great listener. Christine loved all-natural beauty, the sun, and swimming. She had a life filled with precious memories beginning in her youth. She spent her summers and holidays in Dexter, Maine, with her prized immediate family and in the loving embrace of her grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins. The last 36 years of Christine’s life was made complete by joining with John and his loving family and another slew of grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Hers was a life rich in family tradition, memorable holidays, vital rituals, enjoyed irreverence, vacations, and meaningful events.

Christine is survived by her loving and adoring family, mother Dorothy Starzyk; stepfather Walter Starzyk; brothers, David and his wife, Becky, and Scott and his wife, Shannon; mother in-law Sheila Reardon; brothers in-law Michael and Kevin Reardon; and sister in-law Lori Sullivan and her husband, Dan. Christine is also survived by many loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Christine is predeceased by her missed and beloved brother Chuck and father in-law Jack Reardon.

Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Sunday, December 5, from 3 to 7 pm at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 6, at 11:30 am at St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown.
