Newtown Schools Winter Concert Dates

Each year students in the Newtown Public School’s Music Department tighten strings, tune instruments, and ready vocal chords for the soon-to-be performed Winter Concerts. The following is a listing, released this week by the school district, of all the 2010 Winter Concert dates.

The Newtown High School Band/Orchestra, Monday, December 6, at 7 pm; snow date, December 20.

The Newtown High School Chorus, Tuesday, December 7, at 7 pm at NHS; snow date, December 21.

Newtown Middle School Eighth Grade Winter Concert, Monday, December 13, 7 pm at Newtown High School; snow date, January 4.

Newtown Middle School Seventh Grade Winter Concert Tuesday, December 14, 7 pm at Newtown High School; snow date, January 6.

Head O’ Meadow School Chorus, Thursday, December 16, at 7 pm; snow date, December 16.

Sandy Hook Elementary School Chorus, will perform at Newtown High School on Thursday, December 16, at 7 pm; snow date, December 22.

Reed Intermediate School Fifth Grade Global Music and Orchestra, Monday, January 10, at 7 pm; snow date January 24.

Reed Intermediate School Sixth Grade Global Music and Orchestra, Tuesday, January 11, at 7 pm; snow date January 25.

The Hawley Elementary School Chorus, Wednesday, January 12, at 7 pm; snow date January 18.

Middle Gate Elementary School Chorus, Thursday, January 13 at Newtown Middle School at 7 pm; snow date January 18.

Reed Intermediate School Blue House Sixth Grade Band, 7 pm on Wednesday, January 19, and Reed’s Green House Sixth Grade Band at 8 pm. Snow date, January 26.

Reed Intermediate School’s Blue House Fifth Grade Band, 7 pm on Thursday, January 20, and Reed’s Green House Sixth Grade Band at 8 pm. Snow date, January 27.

The Newtown High School Singer’s Annual Madrigal Dinner will run from 7 pm until 10 pm at Stony Hill Inn, 50 Stony Hill Road in Bethel, on January 22. For tickets to this event and more information, e-mail Madrigaltix@aol.com.
