Margaret Brokaw

Margaret Mary “Peg” Barton Brokaw, 99, of Newtown, beloved wife of the late Michael Brokaw, died November 29 at Danbury Hospital. Born October 6, 1919, in Mattapan, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Harry and Rose Douglas Barton.

A US Army veteran, Mrs Brokaw served as a nurse during World War II. She was a retired employee of the City of Bridgeport Public Health Department, where she worked as a nurse for many years and retired as supervisor.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A son, Michael Brokaw of Newtown; a daughter, Anne Legoza of New Mexico; three grandchildren, Michael and his wife, Laura, Jennifer and her husband, Ronald, and Keith and his wife, Yolanda; as well as several nieces and nephews survive her.

A son, Carl Brokaw, predeceased her.

Relatives and friends may greet the family Tuesday, December 4, from 9:30 to 10:30 am, in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

Funeral services will take place Tuesday, December 4, at 10:30 am, in the funeral home and at 11:30 am in St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
