Valerie C. Ide passed away peacefully on Monday, November 23, from natural causes. She was born on March 9, 1936, in Teddington, England.

She is survived by her three daughters, Lynne Solaski, Jill Rosenkranz, and Sue Selner; her five grandsons, Ian, Harry, Jack, Ben, and Thomas; and her dog, Chloe.

She traveled the world as a stewardess for PanAm, settling down in Forest Hills, N.Y., where she raised her family for over 40 years. She moved to Newtown to stay close to her children and grandchildren, all of whom still reside here today.

Her loves included knitting, gardening, tennis, and playing the violin. Valerie was often seen walking her dog through Fairfield Hills, rain or shine. She will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, generosity, selflessness, love of animals, and her delicious fudge.

Her family will be gathering in the Spring to spread her ashes amongst the flowers.
