To the Editor:

Thanksgiving morning in Newtown was again full of runners and walkers who turned up to earn their stuffing and help support the Cyrenius H. Booth Library by participating in this year’s tenth annual Newtown Turkey Trot. The C.H. Booth Turkey Trot Committee would like to acknowledge the generosity of the many organizations and individuals that contributed to making this event so successful and continuing this great Thanksgiving tradition. The proceeds from our sponsors, donors, and race registrants all combined to provide an important source of revenue to our beloved library.

Thank you to our title and founding sponsor, Newtown Savings Bank, as well as other important sponsors, which included C.H. Booth Board of Trustees, The Newtown Bee, Nuvance Health, Caldwell Walsh, Rankin Textiles, Faxon Law Group, Newtown Center Pediatrics, Collins Hannafin, McKenney Mechanical, Ingersoll Auto, Reverie Brewing Co, Newtown Veterinary Specialists Savings Bank of Danbury, Dental Associates, Caraluzzi’s, Newtown Car Care, Newtown Chiropractic Health Center,Inc, Sippin Energy, Church Hill Physical Therapy, Brautigam Land Surveyor, Edward Jones, Orange Theory, Network Support Company, Iroquois Gas, Ken Burns Electric, Education Playcare, Bagel Delight, Associated Refuse, ABC Sign, Kevin Alves Electric, and Hollandia Nursery.

We thank the Board of Education for the use of the Middle School. The police department and highway department, as always, ensured the public’s safety. The library staff and board provided consistent support throughout the planning and execution of the event.

Finally, we salute the many volunteers who joined forces to execute this multifaceted event. We don’t have room to list you all, but we could not have done this without you.

See you next year on Thanksgiving morning!

Tom Long, Race Director

Matt Mihalcik, Chair, Library Board Development Committee

Amy Dent, president of Library Board of Trustees
