Following is the lineup for Monday’s 57th Newtown Labor Day Parade, as provided by the Newtown Labor Day Parade Committee.

The theme of this year’s parade is “Serving The Community.” Eunice Laverty, owner of Bagel Delight, will serve as grand marshal.

Step-off is at 10 am from the corner of Currituck Road and Main Street. Marchers will follow Main Street to its end, then turn left onto Glover Avenue, and then turn left onto, and follow to the end of, Queen Street. Participants are asked to be at their lineup position by 9:15 am.

The grandstand with judges and parade committee is traditionally in front of Bank of America on Queen Street. Emcees are stationed on Main Street near the flagpole, Glover Avenue, and also in front of Bank of America.

The national anthem will be performed at 9:55 am, at three locations. Newtown Middle School student Shelby Jones will be in front of the Queen Street judges stand, CT Choral Society will be at the flagpole, and Amber Cardinal will be in front of 9 Glover Avenue.

New additions this year will include Alan Will of New Milford and his Last Resort Company fire engine; Uptown String Band from Parkland, Penn.; and rolling billboards that will be placed within the line of march.

REACH Car Club members will have the honor of driving a number of this year’s special guests, including the grand marshal and her judges, Legend & Pioneer Award winner John Martocci, Chamber President Brian Amey, and Miss Connecticut Teen USA.

Also confirmed this week was the addition of “Wonderland at Roseville,” a float that will celebrate a longstanding Christmas tradition in Fairfield.

Residents and guests are also reminded that roads on and adjacent to the parade route, including Church Hill Road from Main Street to The Boulevard, will be closed to traffic by 9:40 am, according to Newtown Police Department. Without exception, all traffic will be diverted around the center of town until the end of the parade, which is expected to be around 1 pm. (See related story.)

Continuing the centennial celebration of their founding, members of VNA-Newtown will don replica costumes for the 57th Newtown Labor Day Parade that depict uniforms their counterparts would have worn 100 years ago. Participating in a recent work session were, from left, VNA members Rebecca Dahlgard, Dotte Dellapiani, Toni Catalina, and Mae Schmidle, with Senator Tony Hwang. Continuing left is VNA-Newtown President Anna Wiedemann and member Luella Leitner. —Bee Photo, Voket
