Joan (Wright) Weber, 95, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Raymond Smith who died in battle during World War II, and the late Edward Weber, died October 9, with her daughter and caregiver, Sandra Lee Pandora, with whom she resided, by her side. She was born March 18, 1922, in Sheffield, England, daughter of the late Robert and Kate (Maw) Wright.

In addition to her daughter, Sandra, two grandchildren, Debra Pandora of Newtown and Dr Pamela Linden and her husband, Steven, of Smithtown, N.Y.; one brother, Robert Wright, and his wife, Marjorie, of Trumbull; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews survive Mrs Weber.

Her step-children, Barbara Zamfino and Fred Weber; her longtime companion, William Kaminsky; and her siblings, John Wright, Eileen (Boughton) Smith, Roberta McDonough, and Vincent Wright, predeceased her.

Mrs Weber came to the United States in 1924 and was a lifetime area resident. She worked for many years at Bridgeport Hospital, and she retired from Park City Hospital where she was a cashier. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling, boating, and traveling. After her retirement, she volunteered at Bridgeport Hospital and enjoyed lunches at Marnick's Restaurant by the Sea Wall in Stratford.

Friends are welcome to visit with Mrs Weber's family in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, on Tuesday, October 17, from noon to 1 pm.

Her funeral service officiated by Reverend Meg Williams will follow at 1 pm, with interment in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
