Jean Robstock "Jeannie" Sedensky, 85, of Trumbull, formerly of Bridgeport, beloved wife of 50 years to the late Stephen J. Sedensky, Jr, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of November 30. She was born in Bridgeport on February 17, 1932, the daughter of the late Katherine (Wilson) and John Robstock.

She will be missed by her family, including her children and their spouses, Stephen J. III and Nancy Sedensky of Newtown; John and Susan Sedensky of Mystic; Anne (Sedensky) and Marc Lajeunesse of Lafayette, N.J.; Jeannie (Sedensky) and John Schlesinger of Portsmouth, R.I.; Kathy (Sedensky) and John Damon of Portsmouth, R.I.; Mark and Amy Sedensky of Middlebury; and Christine (Sedensky) and Dr Christopher Fioritto of Highland Heights, Ohio. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Audrey Anne and Stephen IV of Newtown; John, Mary, and Julie of Mystic; Marc and Robert of Lafayette, N.J.; Allison, Patrick, Amanda, Jack, and Kitty of Portsmouth, R.I.; Ava and Jack of Middlebury; and James, Sean, and Christopher of Highland Heights, Ohio, as well as her sister-in-law, Mary Sedensky Koehm of Trumbull; and brother-in-law, John Sedensky, and his wife, Beverly, of Hampstead, N.H.

Her sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Thomas Greenwood; her sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Dick Shea; and brother-in-law, Andrew Koehm, predeceased her.

She graduated from St Augustine's School, Bassick High School, and Teachers College of Connecticut (now Central Connecticut State University). After receiving her bachelor's degree in elementary education, she returned to Bridgeport and taught second grade at Black Rock School for several years before leaving to raise her family with her husband Steve. When her youngest child went off to college, she returned to the classroom as a teacher's aide in the Bridgeport school system, retiring at the age of 74.

Mrs Sedensky's main love was her family. She was a constant source of love, comfort, and support for her husband, children, and grandchildren. From family parties at holidays, birthdays, and weddings to days and vacations at the beach, skiing, or elsewhere; to school and sporting events, she and Steve wove a wonderful life together.

Besides her husband, her two sisters Catherine Greenwood and Sally Shea were her best friends. She was also blessed with many good friends from her childhood and those she met while raising her family in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport.

Mrs Sedensky was a devout Roman Catholic and a parishioner at different phases of her life at St Augustine's and St Ann's in Bridgeport, and St Stephen's in Trumbull. She had an unwavering faith in God, which she passed on to her children and grandchildren.

She was grateful for the excellent care she received in the last weeks of her life from Jossie Green.

Friends may call on December 8, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on December 9, at 10 am, meeting directly at St Stephen Church, 6948 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will follow in St Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
