So far this summer, as Newtown Parks & Recreation Dickinson Memorial Park Day Camp Director Leah Pizighelli said on July 12, campers are participating in arts and crafts, enjoying activities, and having fun.

"It's like a big a family here, which is really nice to see," said Ms Pizighelli.

Campers have been particularly enjoying floor hockey under the park's pavilion and rolling around on scooters as another activity, Ms Pizighelli observed.

As she spoke, a lively floor hockey match was underway, with camp staff members and campers scrambling to hit a ball, used in place of a puck.

Nearby, campers painted bird houses. Camper Ava Link, 4, said she wanted to paint a bird house, "because I have a bird house at home."
