A Gem For Legislative Council

To the Editor:

Let me start by saying I have never written to a newspaper before, but feel compelled to let the people of Newtown know that they have a gem running for legislator. My mother and my husband both passed away the end of August. Besides my grief, taking me places I never before experienced, I have a consignment, collectible store in Newtown.

I started to make calls to consigners, mostly leaving messages. I received a tearful call back from Jay Mattegat offering anything and everything he could do to help me. I chose to let him help me. Since that phone call he has been the kindest support for me. Through laughter and tears, long hours and grueling tasks, he has helped me at the store and lifted my spirits. There are no words to thank him.

I wish I was able to vote in Newtown. You have an opportunity to elect a real hero to Legislative Council, District 1, Jay Mattegat.
