A Musical Nod

to Hollywood

DANBURY — Danbury Community Orchestra will perform a concert sure to please anyone who watches television or enjoys the movies. “A Nod to Hollywood” will be offered on Sunday, May 3, at 7 pm, at Ives Concert Hall, within White Hall on the midtown campus of Western Connecticut State University, 181 White Street.

The concert will include music from the soundtracks of Pirates of the Caribbean, the Harry Potter movies, Lone Ranger, Apocalypse Now, and Lord of the Rings. The concert is appropriate for families and people of all ages. It will be one hour long.

The 75-piece Danbury Community Orchestra is comprised of auditioned teenagers and adults from greater Danbury. Stephen Michael Smith, director of the Stephen Smith Singers of New York City, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock, and the Founder/Conductor Laureate of Sing Out! Brooklyn, is the musical director of DCO.
