Fraser Woods Montessori School students and families gathered together with teachers and staff on Thursday, September 12, to celebrate the beginning of the school year.

This year marks 12 years that the Fraser Woods Montessori School has held community gatherings to start the year with a wish for peace.

Children entered the dimly lit gym holding candles made by Lower Elementary students. Head of School Myriam Woods spoke and lit a traditional Peace Candle. All joined hands and sang a few songs. Then it was time for ice cream, served by the parent volunteers.

As another school year was ushered in, a magician entertained children during the evening event.
