To the Editor:

Last week a Newtown Bee article about a man arrested on sex charges, referenced Sabrina Post and her business, Sabrina's Encore Productions (SEP).  Our family has been involved with SEP since the Summer of 2010 when our timid and shy nine-year-old son auditioned for his first performance, speaking barely above a whisper. Since that time, both of our sons, now 15 and 18 years old, have spent countless hours at lessons, events and shows with SEP on a continual basis. Our sons have grown tremendously in Sabrina's programs over the years in talent, poise and character. Their mentors include Sabrina and her paid staff; among their best friends are other SEP students and alums. We have been truly blessed by our participation in the positive, close-knit community of SEP staff, parents and students.

Last Fall, Sabrina immediately notified parents of the allegations referenced in the article and of her actions. We do not hold Sabrina accountable. Printing an article that appears to implicate SEP is opportunistic and fails to hold the accused accountable for his alleged actions. We believe Sabrina dealt with the situation properly, professionally and expeditiously.

Now our sons are looking forward to spending time with Sabrina, her staff and their SEP family during the upcoming Summer Series. We are grateful for Sabrina's continued work with our children and thank Sabrina and her Sabrina's Encore Productions staff for their support of the Newtown community.
