Albert G. Kovachik

Albert G. Kovachik, Jr, 47, son of Albert G. and Margaret N. Kovachik of Fairfield, died November 29 at Waterbury Hospital.

He is survived by a sister, Carolyn Mandarano and her husband, Michael, of Newtown.

Bert was born in New Haven and was a long-term resident of Southbury Training School.

In addition to his parents and sister, Mr Kovachik is survived by two brothers, Andrew and his wife, Beverly, of Monroe, and Mathew of Bernardsville, N.J.; two other sisters, Kate Sulik and her husband, David, of the Huntington section of Shelton, and Ilona Palomba and her husband, Anthony, of Huntington; and his “family” in Cottage 33A at Southbury Training School. He is also survived by many caring nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles, including Ethel Kovachik of Stratford, Elinor Pertey of Stratford, Samuel Kovachik of Youngstown, Ohio, Jean Hart of Columbia, S.C., and Charles Peters of Brevard, N.C.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the request of the family. There are no calling hours.

The Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr Kovachik’s name to the Home and School Association of Southbury Training School, Southbury, CT 06488.
