Allen H. Hubbard, 57, died peacefully in his sleep on June 22, 2019, at his home in Newtown. He was born in Danbury and was a resident of Newtown for the past 34 years. He was an active member of the Newtown community, proudly serving as Youth Minister and Religious Educator at St Rose of Lima, Color Guard Dad, Boy Scout Troop volunteer, and Jolly Green Giant for the Sandy Hook School Fair.

Allen was an exceptional, faith-filled man who was silly, generous, kind, hardworking, and loving to his wife of 34 years, Nancie, and their children. A devoted father, he was also a committed friend and mentor. He began his religious education studies at Elim Bible Institute and completed his degree at Kings College in Briar Cliff Manor, N.Y. He served as an adjunct professor at Naugatuck Valley Community College, where he contributed to the creation and presentation of curriculum for the automotive department. As an educator and friend, he possessed a wonderful sense of humor and brought support and inspiration to those around him. He recently embarked on a new consulting challenge with BG parts, serving as the director of service solutions.

His survivors include his wife, Nancie Hubbard; children, Allen Hubbard, Jr, Mary Kate Hubbard, Michael Hubbard, and Grace Hubbard of Newtown; his brother, John Robert Hubbard of Torrington; and his beloved extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, on Friday, June 28, at 11 am. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery, Newtown. Friends may call at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their sympathy send memorial contributions to St Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
