AMASA DAY HOUSE OPEN HOUSE MAY 28

MOODUS, CONN. — The Antiquarian & Landmarks Society will present an open house at its historic house museum, the Amasa Day House, Plains Road on the green, on Monday, May 28.

After the town parade, step back in time and experience life in the Nineteenth Century. Company G, 14th Regiment Connecticut Volunteer Infantry will demonstrate field cooking, war medicine, close-order drilling and rifle firing. The festival will also feature the solo performance piece, “They Call Me Lizzy: From Slavery to the White House,” about the life of Elizabeth Keckly, dressmaker and confidante to Mary Todd-Lincoln. Performance time is 12:45 pm. Admission and tours are free. Donations are requested.
