During a Sunday morning service that was filled with activity, this young parishioner at Newtown United Methodist Church seems to have found himself lifted in prayer. The 10 am worship service on April 28 included the welcoming of new members to the Sandy Hook church, the presentation of new devotionals for first responders, and — going on in the background — the blessing of NUMC church members who will be heading to Haiti this weekend. While the church’s children laid their hands on those who will be traveling as part of the Mountains of Hope team, this young babe in his mother’s arms seemed to be looking toward the heavens (or the church’s balcony) for his adoration.
