Anna Pokladowski

Anna Pokladowski, 85, of 23 Sinsabaugh Heights, Shelton, died December 28 at the Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton. She was the devoted wife of the late John Pokladowski.

She was the mother of John Pokladowski, who lives with his wife, Carol, in Sandy Hook.

Mrs Pokladowski was born in Scranton, Penn., on November 28, 1915, daughter of the late John and Anna Opiekun, and was a resident of Shelton for more than 50 years. With her husband, she was associated with Pope’s Dairy in Shelton for 25 years. She also was a retired cafeteria employee of the Shelton Board of Education and was an active member of the Shelton Senior Center.

Mrs Pokladowski was also the beloved mother of Patty Dobkowski and her husband, Jack, of Shelton and Chris Pokladowski of Cooper City, Fla. She is also survived by a brother, Joseph Opiekun of Nutley, N.J.; a sister, Ceil Kidda of Sun City, Fla.; six grandchildren, Jackie, Timmy, Brian, Debbie, Maria, and Dillan; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Dana. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on December 30 in St Margaret Mary Church, 380 Long Hill Avenue, Shelton. Burial was in St Michael Cemetery, Derby.

The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, was entrusted with the arrangements.
