Robertson

Anne E. (Shiell) Robertson, 84, wife of the late Robert Robertson of Diamond Drive, Newtown, died in Danbury Hospital September 27.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Robertson of Newtown.

She was born in Bronx, N.Y., June 23, 1917, a daughter of the late William and Anna (Grasswill) Shiell. A resident of Newtown five years, Mrs Robertson was a former resident of Milford and Stratford.

Mrs Robertson was a graduate of Stratford High School. For many years, she was employed as a bank teller at Fleet Bank in Milford. An avid golfer, she was a former member of the Grassy Hill Golf Club in Orange and the Riverview Golf Club in Milford.

Survivors also include a son, Robert Robertson and his wife, Doreen, of Danbury; two brothers, Thomas S. Shiell of California and Arthur S. Shiell of Pottersfield, N.Y.; two grandsons, Christopher Robertson and his wife, Nancy, of Plainville, and Nicholas Robertson of Greenwich; three great-grandchildren, Jeff Machen, Kelly Machen and Jamie Robertson. She was predeceased by four brothers.

Ann was loved by all of those who knew her and will be sorely missed.

The Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, was in charge of arrangements.

Following calling hours on October 1, interment was in Newtown Village Cemetery.
