Arthur L. Elliott, 99, of Southbury died July 29 at Masonicare in Newtown. He was born October 1, 1916, in South Portland, Maine, son of Florence M. (Rowe) and Arthur C. Elliott.carpinofuneralhome.com.

His six children and spouses: Judith and David Beers of Sandy Hook, Jeff Elliott of Orlando, Fla., Susan Elliott of Litchfield, Diane and Brian Dyer of Danbury, David Elliott of St James, N.C., and Wendy and Matthew Brazauskas of Woodbury; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his sister Mildred Small of Sarasota, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews of Maine and Massachusetts survive him.

Mr Elliott served as quartermaster 1st class in the US Navy during World War II and received his bachelor's degree from Columbia University in New York City. He enjoyed reading, was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, and loved living in his little house in the woods in Southbury with his dog. He had lived in Sandy Hook prior to becoming a longtime resident of Southbury.
