Two Killed In Berkshire Road Crash

Two Sandy Hook residents were killed in a single vehicle crash early Sunday morning, June 23. Elliot Gregory and Philip Zuvanich died after the Jeep Cherokee they were traveling in crashed into the woods off Berkshire Road at its intersection with Jordan Hill Road.

Design Advisory Board Reviews Police Station Project

The Design Advisory Board (DAB) is reviewing plans for the town’s new $15.1-million police station, a project that will involve expanding and modifying an existing vacant office building at 191 South Main Street to replace the police department’s outdated facility in Town Hall South at 3 Main Street.

Traffic Engineers To Probe Toddy Hill Trouble

The town has enlisted the services of a traffic engineering firm to help it devise plans to resolve a chronic motorist speeding problem on Toddy Hill Road, a north-south town road that links Sandy Hook to Botsford. Toddy Hill Road’s name becomes Botsford Hill Road south of its intersection with Button Shop Road.

WSA Approves Sewer Connection For Planned Condo Complex

Following a June 13 public hearing and discussion by Water & Sewer Authority (WSA) members, the WSA unanimously approved extending municipal sanitary sewer service to a 29-unit condominium complex long-planned for a 29-acre site at 41, 43, 45, and 47 Mt Pleasant Road.
