Barbara Newmark, 86, of Danbury, died December 8, at Danbury Hospital. Born September 23, 1932, in Fairfield, she was the daughter of the late Abner and Mary (Sherwood) Miller. She was wife of the late William Newmark.

Her children and their spouses, Brian and Danelia Abbott of Newtown and Debra (Abbott) and Robert Bergeron of New Bedford, Mass.; her stepchildren and their spouses, William J. and Patrice Newmark of Newtown, Gary V. and Debra Newmark of Callands, Va., James B. and Tracy Newmark of Haverstraw, N.Y., and Chandra (Newmark) and Mark Weising of Old Hickory, Tenn.; one sister, Carol Tyler; and many wonderful grandchildren, nieces, and nephews survive her.

Her first husband, William Abbott, predeceased her.

Mrs Newmark was a registered nurse at Norwalk Hospital, then Danbury Hospital for many years. She loved nursing. Her hobbies included crocheting and knitting. She was also quite fond of visiting the casinos.

Celebration of life gathering will be Thursday, December 13, from 11 am to 1 pm, with a prayer service to begin at 12:30 pm, in the Danbury Memorial Funeral Home, 117 South Street. Interment will follow at Maple Shade Cemetery, Ridgefield.
