It is with great sadness that the family of Bethany Brown announces her untimely passing, at the age of 39 years old.

Bethany grew up with her family here in Newtown and graduated from Newtown High School before obtaining her Bachelor’s from Western Connecticut State University. She then received her Master’s from Southern Connecticut State University. She was a brilliant statistician who strived to give back to the community through mentoring programs and volunteering at local animal shelters.

Bethany will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Alan and Penelope Brown; her sisters, Meredith Ames, Courtney (Shawn) Ward, and Kara Brown; and her many nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her three beloved cats, Gene “The Dancing Machine,” Marlowe, and Max; along with her dear friend, Donovan Cocas.

A private service in memory of Bethany will be held in Pittsburgh with immediate family.
