Book Donation Day Scheduled

Friends of the C.H. Booth Library will hold a special Book Donation Day, Sunday, May 15, from noon to 5 pm, in the rear parking lot of the library at 25 Main Street. Donated books, CDs, DVDs, and LPs are sold at the Friends’ Annual Book Sale each summer, which raises thousands of dollars to support library programs throughout the year.

Friends’ volunteer Toni Earnshaw said, “We are urgently requesting donations because whether it’s the economy or the weather,  donations are down.”

The collection is scheduled to take place rain or shine. Donations may be dropped off with volunteers that afternoon, and tax receipts are available. The Friends of the C.H. Booth Library can also arrange to pick up large quantity donations, or donations from those unable to easily get out.

“Personally,” added Ms Earnshaw, “I think once the weather improves, Newtowners will break out in song like out of an episode of Glee, and donate all of their books.”
