Newtown Boy Scout Troop 270 recently conducted a food drive to benefit Hospitality Hall, a food and hygiene closet open to all residents, located in the main lobby of Newtown Congregational Church.

With that momentum behind them, the Scouts will continue their collections with a second event this week. Members of the troop will be outside Stop & Shop, within Sand Hill Plaza at 228 South Main Street, on Sunday, November 18, from 1 to 4 pm.

That afternoon, the Scouts will be accepting donations for FAITH Food Pantry, the nonecumenical pantry also available to all residents now located at 46 Church Hill Road.
