Boys Premier Development Soccer

A development program for U10 and U11 boys, run by Soccer Extreme and Samba TTP and designed to focus on players primary skill set and expose teams to the tactical understanding of the game at the highest levels, will be conducting a 10-week program beginning on Tuesday, September 10, and running through November 14, at Treadwell Park in Newtown. Blue & Gold Golf Tournament

The Newtown Blue & Gold Booster Club will hold its annual golf tournament on Monday, September 18, at Richter Park in Danbury. It will be a best-ball tournament with a 10 am shotgun start. Cost is $175 and players will receive 18 holes of golf (with cart), continental breakfast, lunch at the turn, buffet dinner at Restaurant on the Green and prizes for first and second place, longest drive, closest to the pin. Brookfield Town Committee Golf

The Brookfield Republican Town Committee (BRTC) will hold its annual golf tournament on Tuesday, September 12, at Candlewood Valley Country Club in New Milford. Start time is 9 am. Fee is $125 per golfer and includes greens fees, cart, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sponsors are also being sought and may make contributions at various levels or donate prizes, raffle items and “giveaways.” Call Jim Clayton at 994-3240 for further information.

Junior Golf Invitational

The first annual Fairfield County Junior Invitational golf tournament will be held Monday, October 9, at the Redding Country Club in Redding. Golfers ages 10 to 12 will play nine holes; ages 13 to 14 and ages 15 to 17 will play 18 holes. Tee times will start at 8 am off the front and back nines. All golfers will be required to carry their own bags; no caddies or pull carts will be allowed. The field is limited to 72 entries. Fee is $35 for players 10 to 12 and $65 for players 13 and over and includes golf, prizes, yardage book and barbecue lunch with drinks. Entry deadline is September 25 (cancellations would have to be made by September 27 in order to receive a refund). Call the Redding Country Club at 203-938-9832.

Adult Volleyball
