Bring Back The Hawleyville

To the Editor:

Although a lot was said about the closure of the Hawleyville Post Office, I would like to add my opinion for the record. Mark Favale, Laura Smoles, and Rich Ruscitto have been more than post office employees; they have been friends to anyone who stepped into their branch. They took their position as civil servants to the extreme, sparing no effort to optimize the service they provided. They treated customers with respect and patience, they worked efficiently, they helped solve any problem encountered and they did all of this with a smile, with patience, with understanding, and with genuine concern.

I find it hard to use the past tense when speaking about this branch, so I encourage all those who have used the Hawleyville PO and all those who would like to continue experiencing service like nowhere else, to join me in calling the US Postal Service to return these special people to us as soon as possible. Let us not let time make us forget!
