Bruce Nicoll, 57, St Augustine, Fla., and formerly of Newtown, died May 29. He was born in Easton, Penn., March 28, 1956, to Manny and Barbara Nicoll.

His loving wife, Lisa, his nurturing and beautiful daughter, Tyler, and his adoring son and golf partner, Matthew, survive him.

 Mr Nicoll was a devoted husband and father. He cherished his time as a coach for both children, and guided them to adulthood, watching both graduate college and become young professionals.

He began his mechanical engineering career designing a number of high profile projects, including the world-renowned Getty Museum. He then went on to launch his own successful firm, NK Consulting Engineers. His passion for the environment led to his lifelong interest in solar power and renewable energy.

Mr Nicoll was a health food enthusiast and lived an active lifestyle that included running, lifting weights, biking, and skiing. He also loved politics, golf, cooking, music, and had a new found love of the guitar. While in Newtown, he was a member of Rock Ridge Country Club.

A funeral service will take place at 1 pm, Sunday, June 2, at Ponte Vedra Valley Chapel, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Interment to follow at Ponte Vedra Valley Cemetery.
