UPDATE: With information received on February 11 from Main Street Adventures, this article has been updated to show Kayla Buckley is the sole owner.

Business name: Main Street Adventures

Address: 125B South Main Street

Owners: Kayla Buckley

Business background: I was inspired to open Main Street Adventures when I got pregnant with my daughter, Chloe James, because I wanted to raise her and not put her in daycare. I had nannied before and took the children to a similar place in New Milford, where I saw how much fun they had. I thought it would be really great to bring that here to Newtown. I grew up in town, and my mom was a school bus owner/operator for Newtown. Together, we came up with our business plan and officially opened Main Street Adventures on December 17, 2018.

Business focus: We do walk-ins where the child/children come in and stay with a parent. We also do drop-offs where the kid can stay here for up to three hours. We do private birthday parties where we close down, and the children have an hour of play then pizza and cake in the party room.

Important to know: We want Main Street Adventures to be a fun, safe environment for all kids where they can come and make friends with others.

Near future promotions, events, seasonal specials: When you buy four visits in advance, you get the fifth visit free for weekdays and also weekends. In the future, we will be doing Parents’ Nights Out, which will include a pizza night here for the kids while the parents can go out to dinner.

Hours: Walk-in hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm; and Saturday and Sunday, from 8 am to noon. Drop-off hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 am to noon and from 1 to 4 pm. Private parties are by appointment.
