Celebrate Connecticut-Made Items

OXFORD — A Made in Connecticut Fair will take place from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday, September 30, at the Colonial Tavern, 24 Hawley Lane, hosted by the Oxford Democratic Town Committee.

This event will feature Connecticut handmade crafts, art, specialty foods and farms.

Plans are underway to make this an annual event.

“Buying local has never been more popular, more necessary, nor more timely,” said Jane Maher, a member of the town committee and event chair.

“We need to take a few steps backward and as our ancestors did, look to our neighbors for the best and safest food, high quality crafts and gift ideas,” she added. “It’s a win-win situation for everyone and a huge plus for Oxford and the state of Connecticut.”

The event will take place rain or shine; there is a tented area.

Admission is $1 for adults; children under age 12 will be admitted free. For additional information call Ms Maher at 203-231-5109.
