Christina (Dvornek) Alvarez, 32, of Sandy Hook, formerly of Danbury, wife of Braulio Javier "Jay" Alvarez, died April 2 at Regional Hospice Center for Comfort Care and Healing in Danbury. She was born in Danbury on December 27, 1985, and was the daughter of Donna (Sabella) Dvornek of Bridgeport and Peter J. Dvornek of Johns Creek, Ga.

Ms Alvarez attended Danbury schools, including Danbury High School, Class of 2004; and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Western Connecticut State University.

A lifelong area resident, Ms Alvarez was a waitstaff member at the Southwest Café of Ridgefield. She was a member of the Connecticut Special Needs Families Networking Group.

In addition to her husband and parents, a son, Javier Alvarez; a daughter, Ciana Alvarez; two brothers, Peter J. Dvornek and Michael T. Dvornek both of Danbury; her paternal grandmother, Olga Dvornek of Tinton Falls, N.J.; her maternal grandfather, John Sabella of North Carolina; her in-laws, Celia and Braulio Alvarez of Ecuador; her father's wife, Karen Dvornek of Johns Creek, Ga.; and her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins survive her

Her paternal grandfather, Peter Dvornek; and her maternal grandmother, Ursula "Dolly" Sabella, predeceased her.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue (between Osborne and White Streets), Danbury, on Friday, April 6, from 5 to 8 pm.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, April 6, at 10:30 am, in the funeral home with Deacon Peter Kuhn of St Joseph Church, Brookfield, officiating. Interment will take place at the direction of the family.
