Church Flea Market, Saturday

Newtown Congregational Church will present a flea market this weekend to raise funds for its building expansion project, which is currently underway.

The Newtown Congregational Church Fun-Raising Committee will host the sale on Saturday, August 30. The sale will run from 9 am to 4 pm, with set-up beginning at 7 am. Admission is free.

There will be plenty of tag sale items, antiques, crafters, local businesses, organizations, and refreshment/baked goods tables. Games and entertainment for children are also being planned.

The flea market will be on the soccer fields at Fairfield Hills, off Wassermann Way in Newtown; signs will be posted around town and near the exit ramps of I-84.

The event is being planned to coincide with the opening day of C.H. Booth Library’s Annual Book Sale, a day known to bring hundreds of people into town. The flea market will be set up within walking distance of the book sale’s location.

For additional information call Barbara or Lee Field at 426-4174 or Newtown Congregational Church’s office, 426-9024.
