Clara Ann Gentile-Young

Clara Ann Gentile-Young, 94, formerly of Newtown, died peacefully July 6, in Beersheba Springs, Tenn., after a short illness. She was born October 26, 1918, in Walston, Penn., a daughter of Marie Grace  (Lorio) and Frank DeBaise.

Mrs Gentile-Young was a cosmetologist in Yonkers, N.Y., and operated a salon and gift shop in White Plains, N.Y. She had resided in Westchester and Dutchess Counties in New York, Newtown, and Dallas, Ga. While living in Newtown, she was a communicant of St Rose of Lima Church.  

A daughter, Bernadine Hall of Beersheba Springs, Tenn.; a son, Frank M. Gentile of Shelton; stepdaughter Mary Grace Travalini of Haverstraw, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight great-step-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren survive Mrs Gentile-Young. She was preceded in death by husbands Frank Gentile and Bernard Young; brothers John, Joseph, Frank, and Vincent DeBaise; and a sister, Angelina Logue.

Friends may call Thursday, July 11, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, Friday, July 12, at 11 am. Interment will follow in St Joseph Cemetery, Millbrook, N.Y.
