Concert & Master Class By Cellist

Mark Fraser In New Milford

NEW MILFORD — A cello concert and master class for aspiring cellists will be hosted by the Connecticut Conservatory of the Performing Arts on Saturday, February 12, with guest artist and the newest member of the school’s faculty, Mark Cairns Fraser. The master class will be at 7 pm, immediately followed by the concert at 8 pm.

The master class is free to participants; admission to the concert is $10 per person.

“Mark is an energetic and talented performer whose teaching style matches his musical excellence,” says John Shackelford, music director of the conservatory.

Mr Fraser is a member of the Adaskin Trio. Formed in 1994, the trio has performed extensively throughout Canada and the United States including numerous concerts recorded for CBC Radio, Radio-Canada and National Public Radio.

Mr Fraser is of the Graduate Professional Diploma from the Emerson String Quartet. He holds a masters and bachelors of music from the Universite de Montreal. Besides being a fine concert artist, Mr Fraser is a chamber music coach and co-founding musical director of Project Renaissance, a unique performing arts festival near Montreal. He has taught students from grade school age through the university level.

The school is at 79 West Street in New Milford.
