Newtown author Sydney Eddison will open her garden for a tour and to introduce a new series of workshops that make connections between art and the garden. As a former set designer and drama teacher, she has delighted in exploring the close relationship that exists between the two.

“Because nature is the co-creator of any garden, gardeners can actually fulfill the yearning many of us feel to be artists,” says Mrs Eddison, who lives in Sandy Hook and has agreed to host the special offering on Saturday, July 13.

Mrs Eddison has gathered together a group of artist friends, who are also ardent gardeners and enjoy sharing their knowledge and experience.  Participants include Kimberly Day Proctor, landscape designer and illustrator; Pamela Wilson, art teacher and gardener; Linda Frankemolle, collage artist and gardener; Kathy Kling, architect and gardener; and Anne Harrigan, Mrs Eddison’s personal assistant and a keen gardener.

Join them on July 13 for a brainstorming session for future workshops and a picnic under the apple tree (bring your own lunch). Desserts and beverages will be provided, and after lunch, there will be an opportunity to learn the best way to divide daylilies and take home a plant.
