CONNY SENIORS

 

NEWTOWN 3, TRUMBULL 0: Tyler Bigham made five saves and Tim Howland made four as the two goalies combined for the shutout victory over Trumbull. Coming off a tough loss to powerhouse Wilton, the Newtown Seniors rebounded with an impressive defensive effort led by longsticks Marc Ingerman, Tyler Law, and Mike Conroy. Ryan Bigham led the scoring with two goals and an assist with Mike Cummings adding the other goal.

NEWTOWN 10, NORWALK 9: Brendan O’Connor had five goals, including the game winner, against his former teammates to lead Newtown’s first ever win over a Norwalk senior team. Mike Cummings had three goals while Ryan Bigham and Jay Schunter each chipped in with a goal and an assist. Tyler Bigham had seven saves in goal with Michael Reid, Grant Speer, and Jeff Bell leading the team in groundballs.

SENIOR IN-HOUSE

 

REDDING CONNY 6, NEWTOWN 3: The Newtown Senior In-House team took on the Redding CONNY Seniors and came up a little short dropping a 6-3 decision. Don Sheppard, Kyle Ekstrom, and Zachary D’Agostino scored for Newtown. Josh Liska, Andrew White, and Matt Fisher led the defense in front of goalie Brendan Rielly who made nine saves.

WATERTOWN 5, UMASS/DUKE 2: The combined In-House teams of UMass and Duke dropped a close game to Watertown. Mike Miller led the scoring with a goal and an assist with Matt Dalling chipping in with a goal. Josh Tanenbaum, Jay Morrissey, and Steve Giacalone played solid defense in front of goalkeeper Tyler Law. who stopped 28 shots to keep the game close.

JUNIOR BOYS

 

WILTON 7, NEWTOWN 3: Ned Emoerson, Alex Archie and Ian Tarrant scored the goals while Ian Tarrant, Eric Dinnan and Kevin Regan recorded the assists. Defensively, Nick Maurer and Alex Divico played well for Newtown. In goal, Dave Lewis recorded 14 saves on the day.

ELI 8, NEWTOWN 5: Ian Tarrant scored twice while Matt Hill, Alex Hamilton and Eric Dinnan each scored for Newtown. Ned Emoerson received an assist on the day. Defensively, Danny Murtha and Kevin Regan stood out for Newtown. The keeper on the day was Dave Lewis, who stopped 18 shots.

WESTPORT 6, NEWTOWN 4: In a tightly contested game Newtown fell to Westport. Max Beitel hit the back of the cage twice while Zack D’Agostino and Ian Tarrant also scored. Defensively, Scott Regnery, Travis Speer and Garrett O’Connor stood out for Newtown. David Lewis stood in goal and collected 11 saves.
