Craig Hayes, 32, of Newtown, died unexpectedly August 28, at his home.

Mr Hayes graduated from Newtown High School in 2004. He spent many years working in the tree service industry. His most recent work was with Newtown Arbor Service with Al Potter, who he considered his mentor.

He enjoyed working on his cars, racing his dirt bike, and spending time with his friends and family. His loved ones say he could always be counted on to lend a hand with a warm smile and big bear hugs.

His sisters, Sarah Hayes of Newtown and Tricia Edel Stoner and her husband, Jason Stoner, of Lexington, S.C.; his father, Dennis Hayes of Newtown; and his niece survive him.

His mother, Linda Hayes, predeceased him.

Mr Hayes had countless friends that were considered family and loved him very much. He is greatly missed by all that knew him.

A memorial service will be Saturday, September 1, from 11 am to 1 pm, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. The family requests everyone come casually dressed.
