Newtown’s Dere Street Bakery, located behind Dere Street Restaurant & Bar at 33 Main Street, will reopen during weekends in December beginning December 8.

“We’ve heard over and over again the past several months from patrons how much they have missed the bakery being open — especially during this holiday period,” owner David Cooper said. “And while it was ultimately a business decision to close the doors, we’re going to give this month a shot. We love this community and are excited to offer a sophisticated and fresh alternative to our customers.”

The bakery will feature a menu that offers “the best of the best” of selections from the original opening — including scones, Bakewell tarts, our infamous sticky toffee pudding, pies, and so much more.

Guests will also have the opportunity to place larger pre-orders for weekend pick-ups through our website in the near future.

The bakery will open on Saturdays, from 8 am to 5 pm, and Sundays, from 8 am to 3 pm, through the remaining weekends of December. A schedule for 2019 will be identified at some point in December.
