Dr Cariaso Joins Newtown Pediatrics

Pediatrician Jerome A. Cariaso, MD, has joined the practice of Lalaine Chua Mortera, MD, FAAP, medical director, at Newtown Pediatrics, 172 Mt Pleasant Road.

Dr Mortera and Dr Cariaso are physician members of the Danbury Office of Physician Services, Inc. (DOPS).

Dr Cariaso earned his medical degree from the Cebu Institute of Medicine in the Philippines in 1990, after earning a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of the Philippines in 1986.

He completed the pediatric residency program of New York Methodist Hospital / Weill Medical College of Cornell University in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1999. He also previously completed the pediatric residency program at the Children’s Medical Center, Philippines, and postgraduate internship at the Metro Cebu Community Hospital in the Philippines.

In 2003, he moved to Connecticut and joined Brookfield Pediatrics, LLC. He was in private practice at Astoria Pediatric Associates, a pediatric group practice in New York City from 2000 to 2003, and was the sole attending pediatrician at Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center from 1999 to 2000.

“In my practice, the total child is my primary concern, and I take pride in providing personal and friendly care,” said Dr Cariaso. “I am dedicated to fully educating parents about their child’s health needs, and strive to be their partner in their child’s health.”

Dr Cariaso is a Southbury resident.
