Dr Michael A. Celli

Michael A. Celli, DC, 94, formerly from Milford, died May 13, at Masonicare at Newtown. He was the beloved husband of the late Metta “Maxine” Logsdon Celli. Mr Celli was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., July 29, 1918, son of Ferdinando and Isabella Frankolina Celli.

He was the loving father of Sandra Morici of Newtown and Barbara Loggia of Hicksville, N.Y.; and brother of John Celli of Newtown. Dr Celli is the loving grandfather of Peter Morici, Amanda Rasch, and her husband Michael, Thomas Loggia, and Pamela Oliveri, and her husband Frank; and loving great-grandfather of four. His parents; brothers Sam and Joseph Celli; and sisters Ann Restaino and Concetta Celli predeceased him.

Dr Celli graduated from Textile High School in Manhattan in 1936. During World War II, he worked in Washington, D.C., for the US Navy.

He was graduated from New York Chiropractic College, also known as Columbia Institute of Chiropractic, in 1965. He was a chiropractor in Long Island from 1965 until moving to Derby in 1989. Dr Celli was a member of the American Chiropractic Association, the Elks in Long Island, and the Blue Jay Gun Club in Long Island. 

Friends are invited to go directly to St Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, Saturday, May 18, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at St Rose Cemetery.
