‘Dracula’ Opens Tonight

 At The Little Theater

Bram Stoker’s Dracula — “a play for people who like their coffee strong,” an ample feast of the mysterious, uncanny and the supernatural — dramatized by Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston, opens this weekend at The Little Theater.

Based on the thriller by Stoker originally published in England in the late 1800s, The Town Players will present a production based on the “original” play that first starred Bela Legosi in his now infamous and legendary role as the Count Dracula.

The Town Players cast includes Steve Affinito as Renfield, Timothy Huebenthal as Butterworth, Keilly McQuail as Lucy, Matt McQuail as Dr Seward, Doug Miller as Van Helsing, Jenny Schuck as Miss Wells, Richard Tovish as Jonathan Harker, and Alexis Vournazos as the Count Dracula.

The play is being directed by Suzanne Kinnear and produced by RuthAnne Baumgartner.

Opening night is Friday, October 28. The production will run Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm through November 19. There is a Sunday matinee at 2 pm on November 13.

Tickets are $15 for all evening shows, and $12 for the matinee.

The Little Theater is on Orchard Hill Road in Newtown. For reservations and/or directions, call 270-9144.
