The sound of ukuleles being strummed filled the air in the C.H. Booth Library’s Meeting Room during the all-ages Learn to Play the Ukulele class on March 5.

Instructors Wendy Matthews and Greg Doyle of The Edukated Fleas taught attendees the basics of how to play the ukulele and provided more than 20 ukes for the class to practice with.

The duo started off the workshop by performing a song together, then explained to the ukulele beginners about the anatomy of the instrument and how to hold it.

Participants learned everything from tuning and keeping time to chords and frets.

Young adults in grades 6 through 12 who are interested in attending a similar course for beginners can attend the Learn to Play Ukulele for Teens class at the C.H. Booth Library on Tuesday, March 26, from 4 to 5:30 pm, in the Meeting Room.
