Elisabeth Keayes and Matthew Fitzpatrick

A December 2012 wedding is being planned for Elisabeth Mary Keayes, daughter of Geraldine and John Keayes of Newtown, and Matthew John Fitzpatrick, son of Nancy and Kevin Fitzpatrick of Milan, N.Y.

Elisabeth is a 2005 graduate of Newtown High School. Matthew graduated from Northern Dutchess Christian School in 2003.

The couple became engaged when they attended a play that friends were in. During intermission Kevin excused himself, and when Act Two began Elisabeth was back in her seat but Kevin was nowhere to be found.

“Two girls from the play came out on stage and said that there was a special guest, and asked if we would like to meet him,” said Elisabeth. Matthew walked out from behind the curtain with a dozen roses, knelt on one knee in front of an audience of more than 1,000 people, and said, “If I could hold up a star for every time you made me smile, I would have the entire evening sky in the palm of my hand.” (Author unknown).

“The way Matthew proposed was everything I ever dreamed of and more,” said the future Mrs Fitzpatrick.
