Thursday, July 11: 4:48 am, structure fire, 34 Meadowbrook Road, Botsford, Dodgingtown, Hawleyville, Sandy Hook, and Hook & Ladder responded; 6:59 am, alarm, 274 South Main Street, Botsford and Hook & Ladder responded.

Flames can be seen escaping from one corner of the barn at 34 Meadowbrook Road at approximately 5:30 am Thursday, July 11, when firefighters from seven companies responded to Long Meadow Horse Farm for a reported fire. The fire was through the roof when firefighters arrived 30 minutes earlier, according to Botsford Fire Rescue Chief Andrew White. All horses and other small animals and a family who lives in an apartment attached to the barn were able to escape safely, but the 55-year old barn was a complete loss. —Bee Photo, Hicks
