Fire Safety At Hawley School

Hawley Elementary held its annual Fire Safety Week Program in coordination with firefighters from Newtown Hook & Ladder and Sandy Hook on Wednesday, October 11.

The program included classroom presentations by the firefighters emphasizing emergency procedures in case of fire and a simulated walk-through of a smoke filled room.

One of the many highlights of the day was the demonstration of the thermal camera used in the event of a fire.

“The students and staff wish to thank all of the firefighters who participated in this program,” said Lynda Codeghini, lead teacher, “and their assistance in keeping our children safe.”
