Flagpole Radio Café General Manager Ricahrd Gaines has announced that the April 6 Flagpole Radio Café event at Edmond Town Hall has been canceled.

The show was to have included a headlining set by Lucy Kaplansky.

“In light of the untimely death of Jeremy Richman, we think it best for our community, which is so aligned with Jeremy Richman's tireless mission as well as his capacity to spread compassion to those in need, to take the time needed to process this sad occasion and grieve for their loss,” Mr Gaines said. “Most of all, our hearts are with the family as they endure this terrible ordeal.

“There will be a time for music and laughter and we look forward to returning to the Edmond Town Hall in the fall. Until then, we wish our friends and audience an abundance of peace and grace.”

Tickets already purchased for the April show will be refunded.

The Friday, March 29 Dark Night Cabaret was also canceled due to Monday's incident. An ongoing series presented in the building's Alexandria Room while restoration work was underway in the ETH Theatre, this week's performance was to feature Connecticut State Troubadour Nekita Waller and Newtown Poet Laureate Lisa Schwartz.

The Edmond Town Hall Board of Managers on Monday announced that the performance was postponed until further notice.
